The Countdown Begins

I'm almost afraid to type this or say it out loud but.... if all goes well we will be home Thursday with Avery in tow :) She is on day 3 of her 5 day countdown. She has to go 5 days without dropping her heart rate and O2 saturation simultaneously, this is called a spell . Day 5 will be Wednesday, so that night we'll room in. Rooming in consists of Josh, Avery and I staying in a room together as if we were home but in the hospital. This is just to make sure all is well and that she'll do fine off monitors and with feedings and such. I have no doubt she'll do great so I really feel like we will finally be home as a family on Thursday! I am too excited. I feel like a kid counting down the days until Christmas knowing I'm getting the best present in the world.
I also feel a bit sad believe it or not. Avery has the best primary nurses and I will miss them so much. Not only do they take the best care of her they've became great friends. They've helped me and kept me sane through all of this. I am forever thankful for all 4 and couldn't imagine going through this without any of them. We'll keep in touch but it's still not the same as seeing them all the time. I know God will bless other babies and parents with the gift of these great nurses because he sure has blessed me with them. I love you guys and thank you for being amazing nurses and wonderful people, Laura, Becca, Dani, and Kim.
